The Federal Minister for Maritime affairs Syed Ali Haider Zaidi has said that Gwadar will be the future economic hub of Pakistan with the fully functioning of Gwadar port.
He said during his visit to the new port city of Gwadar along with Chairman Karachi Port Trust (KPT), Rear Admiral Jameel Akhtar HI (Military) on Saturday.
The Minister reviews the pace of development projects underway in Gwadar. The Chairman Gwadar Port Authority, Mir Dostain Khan Jamaldini and Chairman China Overseas Port Holding Company Limited (COPHC) Mr, Zhang Baozhong and other officials from GPA had a meeting with the Federal Minister.
Mr. Zaidi visited Business Complex, Gwadar Port International Terminal, Gwadar Port Free Zone and Desalination Plant inside the Free Zone area.
In the meeting, the Chairman Gwadar Port Authority briefed the federal minister on the ongoing GPA projects, including Gwadar Port Free Zone, Gwadar Port Master plan and Eastbay Expressway Projects.
The Federal Minister also visited the under construction Gwadar Eastbay Expressway Project site. The Project Director and Chinese Engineers update and problems faced by them during the Execution of the project.
The KPT officials including Mehmood Moulvi and Sultan Ali Alana were also present on the occasion.
