QUETTA: The Vice Chancellor of University of Turbat Professor Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir has said that the books and humans share a deep relation as book is the best friend of loneliness.
He expressed these views in his message on International Day of Books here on Tuesday. He said that the books are best ornaments of students, adding that only those nations who are book friendly cover the distances of development.
He said, therefore, the various programs are held to promote the book reading culture and in this regard, a book fair would also be held in University of Turbat in which all the famous publishers of country would be invited to set up their bookstalls.
He further said that a large library has been set up in the new building of the university, adding that hundreds of thousands of books would be placed in the library which would promote book reading habits in the area. He said that it was the utmost urge of the UoT to promote book reading habits in the region. He also stressed the need of community libraries for promoting book reading habits in the area.
