QUETTA: Speaker Balochistan Assembly Ms. Raheela Hameed Durrani has said that the incumbent government is focusing on various fields under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri.
She expressed these views during the inaugural ceremony of two modern operation theaters built under her proposed funds, on Thursday. She said that the Provincial Government is making efforts for improving the health facilities in the province, adding that the vision of the incumbent government is to provide all modern facilities of healthcare to the masses at their doorsteps. She said that it was very unfortunate that the ratio of mother and infant mortality rates in Balochistan are higher than the other provinces, adding that however effective steps are underway to control this. She emphasized the need to of laying a network of modern hospitals in the entire province to reduce the child and mother mortality rate. She said that along with the establishment of hospitals the provision of modern equipment and machinery are also necessary in the hospitals.
Earlier, Medical Superintendent (MS) Civil Hospital Quetta gave a detailed briefing to the Speaker Balochistan Assembly about the said OTs, adding that these would remain functional 24/7 where 70 to 100 patients would benefit from modern facilities of healthcare on daily basis. He said that lift facility has also been installed in cases of emergency for the patients.
