NOSHKI: Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Balochistan on Saturday demanded Pakistan Army’s helicopters to look for the people who went missing in torrential rains in Noshki.
According to Levies sources, six buses carrying people including women and children went missing near Zaro while they were on way from Chaghi to Noshki amidst heavy downpours.
Levies sources said the local people have reached near the people; however, they are unable to rescue them as their vehicles are bogged down in mud.
Talking to Samaa, Abdul Samad, a councillor from Qadirabad, Noshki, said he is in contact with the local people, saying the missing people are stuck in the mud, unable to move an inch.
The councillor said the missing people have been stuck overnight with rains continuously lashing throughout the day, adding the local people said the people can only be reached with the help of helicopters.
The local people feared for the life of the missing people if not rescued, said Abdul Samad.
The PDMA has written a letter to Pakistan Army to requisition helicopters to rescue the trapped people.
