NOSHKI: The security and rescue agencies on Saturday rescued people trapped in a rain-triggered wetland in Noshki; however, one of their children passed away.
At least six vehicles remained bogged down in swamp in Noshki area of Boti. Rescue efforts were hampered mainly owing to sustained downpours and marshy land.
Levies sources earlier reported that six buses carrying people including women and children went missing near Zaro near Afghanistan border while they were on way from Chaghi to Noshki amidst heavy downpours.
It should be mentioned here that the people were escorting bride and bridegroom back to Noshki after attending a marriage ceremony in Chaghi.
Reacting promptly to the report of the people who went missing in Noshki amidst torrential rains, Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Balochistan demanded Pakistan Army’s helicopters to look for the people.
Talking to Samaa, Abdul Samad, a councillor from Qadirabad, Noshki, said the people have remained stuck through the night with rains continuously lashing throughout the day.
