The Provincial President of Awami National Party Asghar Khan Achakzai has said that tension at Pak-Afghan border is not in the interest of anyone and hopefully the tension would soon be resolved through negotiations.
Addressing to a Press conference here at Quetta Press Club, he said that ANP’s procession to be held on 23rd May would be an historic one, adding that the lodging of murder cases against the party’s MPA and Senator political interests can be perceived, adding that in this regard the order of Speaker to form an impartial committee is appreciable and party is grateful to the Speaker.
He said that the judicial system is strong in Pakistan and they hope the accused party members would be served with justice, adding that it was unfortunate to see that whenever ANP wanted to play a positive role, the opponent party created obstructions in its way.
He said that the tribal enmities in Qilla Abdullah are one of the main causes of backwardness in that particular area, adding that the tribal animosities are used for political and personal leverage.
He also expressed his gratitude towards the security high-ups for taking them in confidence during the tension with Afghan border security forces which, he said, resulted in rehabilitation of the people who had left their homes in the wake of tensions.
