Mir Gul Khan Nasir was a prominent progressive poet, politician, historian, and journalist of Balochistan. He was born in Noshki, Balochistan on 14 May 1914.
He wrote of a number of books on history and poetry and translated several works from other languages into Balochi and Urdu. Some of his works include i.e. History of Balochistan (1952), Balochistan Kay Sarhadi Chaapa Maar (1979), and Garand (1971) which is an important collection of Mir Gul Khan Nasir’s poems.
He wrote poetry in Balochi, Brahvi, Urdu and Persian. He was awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz posthumously for his literary services in 2001.
He died on December 5, 1983.
