QUETTA: The Chief Minister, Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, has announced a cash grant of Rs one million each for the victims of Ganz shooting incident near Gwadar in which 10 workers were gunned down on road construction site.

The official announcement was made on Sunday saying that the Government would also announce compensation for the injured people. The Chief Minister, in a statement, said that he is equally sharing the sorrows of the families of the deceased persons killing in the shooting incident.

Nawab Zehri said that it was the duty of the Government to protect the lives of workers at work site in Balochistan, including of those coming from other provinces.

He said that the workers are backbone for implementing the development schemes and thus their lives are also precious and dear to him and his Government. The life of workers is not inferior to any high official, he said.

The Chief Minister issued categorical instructions to all concern to provide adequate protection to all those working on CPEC projects in Balochistan. He directed the field officers to prepare proper data about the workforce on the CPEC project and provide them fool-proof security in all conditions.

He said there should be any flaw in implementing the security plan for the workforce in all parts of Balochistan. He said that the real culprits would be brought to book soon for killing the innocent and defenseless workers.

The Chief Minister declared his commitment to complete all the CPEC projects and they are main arteries of provincial economy and no one will be allowed damage it.
