A string of violent attacks in major parts of Balochistan over the past few years struck the nerve of the entire Baloch population and particularly the current provisional government. Whenever there is an upsurge of development on undeveloped grounds, the revolt from position hits with full intensity. Same is the case in Balochistan. The mechanism to avoid the resistance is to nurture the people with excessive grants on a grassroots level. After the grant, the state must act on the policy of the development.
Balochistan was the hub of insurgents for almost a decade. The reported number of total causalities since 2011 is numbered to 4569 civilians. Though the insurgency has been reduced vividly by army, but to further fortified writ of the state, the LEAs are regularly carrying out Intelligence Based Operations against the miscreants. Recently 11 militants of Baloch Republican Army (BRA) were captured during IBOs in different parts of the province and seized a large number of firearms as well as cash from their possession. In two other IBOs in Sibi and Dera Bugti, several militants with 3 high value targets were captured by FC and Pakistan Army. In both operations, a large number of weapons were also recovered from them. A large quantity of explosives and arms including 181 RPGs, 74 MMRRs and 80 rounds in Kahan area of Kohlu.
LEAs are also carrying out operations in Pashtun belt of the province and have successfully foiled multiple terrorist attacks by defusing IEDs and capturing high value targets in Qila Saifullah and Dukhi respectively.
Balochistan is improving in every sphere; the law and order, infrastructure, environment and people’s livelihood. Federal government is trying to address the genuine issues and basic needs of the people. That’s why Islamabad has initiated development and support programs like Aghaz-e-Haqooq-Balochistan by Yousaf Raza Gillani in 2009 and the recent 10 year mega development program by Khaqan Abbasi.
