QUETTA: Forming a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to probe into the Mastung Incident is under consideration while forensic teams from Punjab have already arrived at Mastung.
The team of Punjab Forensic Sciences Laboratory, comprising three members, arrived in Mastung whereas crime investigator Rashid Ali along with his team also collected evidences from the site of the incident.
The sample organs of suicide bomber have already been acquired for DNA test. Police say that that the evidences collected from the site would be tested in Forensic Science Laboratory at Lahore, adding that the forensic experts are also drawing a comparison of the Mastung incident with the incidents taking place in the recent past. Police authorities say that the picture issued by the banned outfit has some resembles with the suicide bomber, adding that the upper part of the suicide bomber is safe while the lower part has been damaged.
Sources in Police Department said that DIG police Quetta Region Abdul Razaq Cheema has sent a request to the Home Department for forming a joint investigating team comprising Police, Counter Terrorism Department, Federal Investigation Agency and Intelligence Agencies and Home Department is considering the request and comprising of the JIT is expected in next 48 hours.
