QUETTA: At least four policemen, including a senior official, were martyred in ambush in Quetta on Thursday, Samaa reported.
According to our correspondent, the incident occurred at Arbab Ghulam Ali road in Huda area where unknown gunmen fired shots on police vehicle.
Initial reports said three police constables died on the spot after being shot, while a senior official Mubarak Shah, who is SP Quaidabad, and his driver were critically injured.
Shah was shifted to civil hospital where doctor made efforts to save his life; however, he succumbed to fatal bullet injuries.
The wounded driver is under treatment in the hospital.
Law enforcement personnel are frequent target of terrorists across Balochistan.
The latest incident of terrorism came three weeks after a powerful car bombing near the office of IG Balochistan killed 14 people and wounded 20.
