QUETTA: Provincial Minister for Health Mir Rehmat Saleh Baloch has said that TB diagnosis centers have been established in 27 districts of Balochistan where as many as ten thousand patients have been registered so far.
He told this during a press conference at his office on Thursday. He said that medicines for treatment of Malaria and its microscopes for its diagnosis have been provided to 21 districts in collaboration with Malaria Control Programme.
He said that a frame of registration of new patients of TB has also been implemented in thirty districts of Balochistan where MIS, DATS, TBDMIS surveillance have been introduced. He said that fluorescent microscopes have also been provided in 12 districts of Balochistan for TB diagnosis along with establishment of diagnosis centers in 27 districts. He said that the ten thousand registered patients of TB are being provided free medicines, adding that as many as 20 doctors, 96 paramedics and 31 laboratory assistants have been trained for diagnosis of TB and reporting. He said that 90 social workers and mobilisers have also been trained to create awareness about TB in the 30 districts of the province, adding that World Health Organization has also arranged a twenty day training in 21 districts for malaria diagnosis. He said that Global Partner has also assisted disseminate information to 63000 people regarding usefulness of mosquito nets.
