Chief Minister of Balochistan Abdul Quddus Bizenjo said that development and stability of the country are linked to peace and development in Balochistan. He said youth is an important asset to the nation and the government is determined to provide them education, peaceful environment and other best opportunities. The Chief Minister has provided laptops to students while hoping for a bright future. Provincial ministers and members of Balochistan Assembly distributed laptops to 450 students under Balochistan Youth Mobilization Program. He said that youth is the future of Pakistan and he counselled the youth to play an effective role in the development of the country and especially Balochistan. Furthermore, he said it is necessary for young people to spend their valuable time on education. The purpose of the change in the provincial government is to solve the problems of the people, bring prosperity in the province and for the purpose of achieving this objective the support of youth is very important.
Chief Minister talked about Balochistan and its journey towards development. The work on various CPEC-related projects in the province continues and after attaining standard education youth will be able to take full part in these projects. Moreover, the Chief Minister said that some negative elements who did not want development of the province propagating their despicable designs against the country which can be foiled only through the unity of the nation. He said that doors of CM Secretariat are open to the public and the purpose of open court sessions is to solve the problems of the people immediately. He said that eliminating unemployment and backwardness of the province is the top priority of his government. Full transparency and merit would be kept in employment in various departments.
Furthermore, Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has publicly announced the provision of free Matric education to the students of Balochistan and Federally Administrated Tribal Area (FATA) with start of new admissions (Spring 2018 semester). The formal decision is taken by the University’s Executive Council at its 106th meeting on the recommendation of their Finance Committee. The desiring students can approach the University’s regional offices in their respective regions to avail the facility. Moreover, this is the first-time in the history of AIOU that free education at the secondary-level has been made available for relegated or less-developed areas of the country.
The University has set aside its financial gains in its efforts of providing educational facilities to the students of Balochistan and FATA. Furthermore, the University is already providing free education to neglected sections of the society that includes disabled persons, prisoners, drop-out girls and transgender group. Now they are taking care of economically less-privileged areas of the country by making education free for the students of Balochistan and FATA. They had already relinquished off tuition fee for the internally displaced persons (IDPs) of the tribal areas in wake of counter-terrorism operation undertaken by the Pakistan army. The University is also providing scholarships to the deserving students to ensure that nobody should be left without education because of financial constraints.
