Every statesman has some accomplishment in their life, likewise, former Chief Minister of Balochistan Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch I known to have a legacy of starting a reconciliation process between insurgents and the Government. It all started in the previous Provincial Government when the offer was made to local insurgents to accept them back in the society. The Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) and the political structure of Balochistan were successful in making this effort. A vast majority of the militants, insurgents and outliers surrendered under the efforts of Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch and Ex-Commander Southern Command Lt. General Nasir Khan Janjua.
The spillover effect of Balochistan’s political reconciliation did not stop and effectively gained strength day by day. On the dawn of 8th December, 2017, approximately 313 more insurgent, members of banned militant organizations surrendered themselves in front of the State. People from the Provincial Government, Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, Home Minister Balochistan Sarfraz Bugti, Commander Southern Command Lt. Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa, Spokesperson of the Government of Balochistan Mr. Anwar ul Haq Kakar and other important personalities were present in a ceremony which took place at the Balochistan Assembly Hall.
Chief Minister welcomed all of the surrendered militants with open arms and said that ‘We welcome you all, Pakistan has a “big heart” to accept those whose hands were coloured with the blood of innocent people’. Moreover, Chief Minister told the crowd that, people who were not aware of the truth are now aware, and now this is the time to merge them into the society. All of us now should work together for the betterment of Balochistan. He further said that the reconciliation process will continue despite all odds.
The militants who surrendered, 17 of them are top commanders of banned militant organisations such as LeJ, BLA, BSF and etc. On inquiry, they told that they were being played in the name of rights whereas there were dark, sordid interests of individuals who asked them to raise insurgency against the state. Furthermore, they added that now they have witnessed who wants the betterment of the state, and who is the real culprit.
The acknowledgement of these leaders was shown when they were waving the flag of Pakistan in the ceremony. These leaders and all militants were positive to work for the betterment of Balochistan and to never raise the weapons against the state. They reiterated that, personal agendas of leaders like Brahumdagh Bugti were folded under the slogans of deprived rights which ignited the sense of animosity in them against the state. A former militant from Naseerabad Dur Muhammad said that, ‘Some elements were threatening us not to surrender’. Another militant from Harnai said, ‘They were threatening us that they will kill us and our family if we will surrender’.
Till now, 1800 members of banned militant organizations have surrendered via this program. These Ferraris have started a normal life again going back to their clans and tribes. These statements are astonishing and concrete to prove the elements behind the insurgency and unrest in Balochistan have ulterior motives.
Above mentioned self-exiled leader is funded by R&AW the intelligence agency of India, and they want a chaos in Balochistan which they wish to result in a separation of Balochistan. On the contrary, that is a dream and will remain a dream as now things are getting crystal clear to the domestic arena, regional arena and international arena. Balochistan is on the way of progress and development.
