Quetta: A large reserve of oil and gas has been found in Jandran area of Marri Agency in Balochistan. Experts say that these reserves are much greater than the reserves in Sui Dera Bugti, Loti field and Pir Koh, Balochistan. The reserves in Sui Dera Bugti account for 6% of Pakistan’s production of gas and they are estimated to be at around 2 trillion cubic feet. Another gas reserve found in Uch Mountains in the Bugti tribal region is used to produce electricity by a private industry. The energy produced at the Uch Power Plant is sold to WAPDA and is transmitted to Sindh and its upper region.
