As part of the Balochistan government’s agenda of addressing the problems of the province, Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan undertook a three-day visit of the Makran division and chaired various meetings to review the law and order situation and development projects.
The meetings targeted Turbat, Gwadar, Pasni, Ormara, Makran and other cities of the province.
The chief minister has set a new precedent in the history of the province for being the first chief executive to undertake a solo visit of Makran as the previous CMs only visited the division when the prime minister or the president would visit the area.
During various sessions held over public issues as well as law and order, Kamal reviewed development projects and directed provision of immediate relief for the downtrodden people of the Makran belt.
The CM was briefed over the Gwadar University project.
The CM directed authorities to complete the Gwadar Development Authority’s (GDA) water treatment plant till November 30, 2018, pledged two buses for GDA schools and ordered the school administration to teach Chinese language till Class VI.
In Pasni, Kamal visited the Inter Boys College and announced that the provincial government would upgrade the college into a Government Degree College. He also pledged to build an inter college for the girls of the coastal city of Pasni.
Kamal issued orders to functionalise the 50-bed hospital building being funded by Oman.
He said he would approach the federal government over the electricity issues in Makran.
Approving eight acres of land for SOS Village in Turbat, the CM directed authorities to provide full cooperation for establishing the village.
Kamal expressed dismay over the wastage of government funds, warning of strict action against government officials involved in corrupt practices in Makran.
